How to Plan for Rain on your Wedding Day

So you’ve been checking the forecast religiously and it looks like rain on your wedding day? Do not worry! Use this blog as a guide on how to approach your wedding day when it looks like rain might be the guest you didn’t invite.

Be prepared

If it looks like rain, plan ahead with clear umbrellas (you could even personalise them) or even a raincoat and wellies! Speak to your wedding venue about a plan B, especially if your ceremony is outdoors, and consider how to make your guests feel comfortable.

Flexibility is key

Rain might mean a slight change in plans, but it can also lead to unexpected moments. Be flexible, and let spontaneity guide the day. A rainy wedding can be just as magical, if not more so, than a sunny one. Remember, it's all about celebrating your love together, come rain or shine.

Have some fun!

Grab your partner and your photographer and go outside and dance in the rain! Make the most of the weather and use clear umbrellas as props to capture the most wonderful photos. Smile, dance and enjoy yourself. Who says you can’t jump and splash in puddles?

Create some magic

Rainy days bring a certain magic. Misty landscapes and soft raindrops make everything look dreamy and the rainy weather tends to create a cosy and intimate atmosphere. Sharing an umbrella, stealing a kiss under the rain — these intimate moments become even more special. Your photographer is on a mission to capture that magic and they know how to use the weather to their advantage. Give them the creative freedom to capture the unexpected beauty that rainy days can bring.

In the grand scheme of things, a little rain won't dampen the spirit of your wedding day. So, dance in the rain, laugh with your loved ones, and enjoy every moment!
